China's natural gas energy sources will increase from 23.8 billion m3 in 1999 to about 64.5 billion m3. With the development of the western region and the implementation of the West-to-East Gas Transmission Project, the large-scale use of natural gas energy in the Shanghai region after 2003 will be realized. The research and development of heat treatment equipment and technology using clean, high-calorific natural gas energy and high-temperature air combustion technology is an urgent research and development and popularization application topic for national heat treatment science and technology workers.
